~
This week was quite a good week! I also downloaded an array of free eBooks from Amazon, thanks to some amazingly generous authors.
Purchased
1) Hourglass by Myra McEntire
I know this ones been out since June now but its one of those that just kept getting left off my shopping list. There was always another book that I wanted more. Anyway now I got it!
2) By Midnight by Mia James (#1) &
Darkness Falls (#2) by Mia James
I've seen good and bad reviews for these books but that always makes me want to read them more! Lots of people criticising the 'Twilight'ness about these so I wanted to find out for myself.
Plus they're set in England! Yay!
Thanks to Megan for recommending them - You know me so well!!
Net Galley
1) Emerald City by Alicia K. Leppert
Not sure about this one yet but its a romance, and I'm a sucker for a good romance.
Here's the Amazon blurb:
Olivia's sad, solitary life in Seattle comes dangerously close to ending one fateful night, if not for a neighbor saving her in the nick of time. Curious about her mysterious rescuer, she seeks him out in hope of getting some answers, but instead finds something she never thought she'd have again.
Sounds intriguing so we'll see!
2) The Vanishing Game by Kate Kae Myers
Available from both Amazon's from 14th February
The Blurb:
Jocelyn's twin brother Jack was the only family she had growing up in a world of foster homes-and now he's dead, and she has nothing. Then she gets a cryptic letter from "Jason December"-the code name her brother used to use when they were children at Seale House, a terrifying foster home that they believed had dark powers. Only one other person knows about Jason December: Noah, Jocelyn's childhood crush and their only real friend among the troubled children at Seale House. But when Jocelyn returns to Seale House and the city where she last saw Noah, she gets more than she bargained for. Turns out the house's powers weren't just a figment of a childish imagination. And someone is following Jocelyn. Is Jack still alive? And if he is, what kind of trouble is he in?
I've read 4 Angels books in the last six week so I really need a break from them. I thought this one sounded a bit more of a horror-creepy-jumpy book.
I'll let you know - so far mixed reviews on GR
Fre-books from Amazon
1) Glimpse by Stacey Wallace Benefiel
*Not free
Nela recommended this one so when I saw it was free I grabbed it!
2) Winter Rose by Rachel A. Marks
This is a novella and I'm a cover judger! This cover with the
gorgeous girl had me wanting to know more
3) Electrify Me by Erica Stanciu
* Not free
One of those rare ones with no reviews on Goodreads yet.
