Christmas is just around the corner, and it's time to start thinking about your Christmas decor. Of course, there's the tree, and maybe a wreath or two and some Christmas lights. But there are dozens more options in the kinds of decorations you choose, the colors, the style, and more -- each having a big impact on the atmosphere you create.
If you aren't sure what direction you want to take with your Christmas decor this year, consider these trends in Christmas decor for this year (and PS, it's NEVER too early to start thinking about Christmas!):
Besides a little fake spray snow or a string of lights, windows often get overlooked in the decorating process. Christmas curtains add some holiday decor and help brighten up the room. You can opt for solid, classic colors like red, green, and gold, or you can choose patterned fabrics with festive scenes including snowflakes, candy canes, wrapped gifts, and more. Have fun with it!
Some folks like to dress their tree with a variety of ornaments, but this year's trend has more and more people choosing an overall theme for all of their ornaments. Some popular themes include birds and nests, silver (for ice), and vintage (classic ornaments and retro designs).
Don't let your house have all the fun! You likely spend a lot of time in your car, too, driving to work and to the mall to buy all those gifts. Give your car a little holiday cheer with a Rudolph nose and antlers for the grill, a festive license plate cover, fake lights around the dash, and so on. Again, just have fun with it!
