I know I have been away.

I’ve been quite distracted.

First vacation to Savannah, then recovering from vacation oh and those ever so popular erotic romance books Fifty Shades of Grey. (I read all three in like four days)

No longer an erotic romance virgin.

I have read some pretty tantalizing sex scenes before but the Fifty Shades books were a whole new level of “Hi honey, coming home for lunch?”

I read the reviews before purchasing them on my Kindle and people either hate them or love them, there really isn’t any in between. I will say that there are moments of repetition with the wording and Ana calling her lady part “down there” was humorous. Brought me back to middle school.

Here is the description of the first book *courtesy of Amazon.com*

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

BDSM has never been on my reading radar but I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy the kinky dialogue. Though the writing is “alright” for me and for others who gave it sub-par reviews, it’s the weird obsessive love between Christian and Anastasia that sucks you into this sexy book trilogy. I truly wanted them to succeed as a couple. When I reached the end of the first book I had to immediately dive in to the second and I won’t say why because that would be a spoiler. Even though I LOVE spoilers ie I read the end of the third book just to make sure it ended how I wanted it to;-)

The author E.L. James is a quiet suburban mom who says these books were her midlife crisis which made me laugh. At first they were merely e-books on a website in the U.K. and then word of mouth spread on Goodreads and BAM! They’re making it a movie!

I will be first in line for that.

I love how humble the author is and I guess in a way gives me “hope” with my book. Maybe that will happen to me and my book will explode world wide. Now mine isn’t erotic like Fifty Shades but it has it’s hot moments.

If you ever need some new ideas for the bedroom Fifty Shades will guide you in that direction. I am pretty sure husbands all over are quite pleased with these books and are encouraging their wives to re-read them as often as possible.

I know mine is;-)

So what’s your take on erotic romance books?
