I was thrilled to get an ARC (advance reader’s copy) of The Winter Palace: A Novel of Catherine the Great by award-winning Polish author Eva Stachniak, and I’m even more thrilled to be able to offer it to one lucky reader in a giveaway! There are certain periods that I love…

When I saw The Demi-Monde: Winter being publicized as a winter release, I had no idea what it was about but the title kept capturing my eye. Little did I know what a treat I had in store for me. The Demi-Monde: Winter by Rod Rees is Book #1 in the Demi-Monde Saga series. Although it could probably best be described as near-future sci-fi, I believe it has a much broader reach than that. This is one genre-bending novel. It’s…

I was in the mood for some fun paranormal reading, so when I had the opportunity to snag a digital advance reader’s copy of Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, I went for it. I hadn’t read any of her other work so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after reading this stand-alone novel, I’m definitely a fan. When I was looking for holiday stories, romances of one kind or another were the bulk of what I found. When bestselling author Nicola Marsh wrote me a note about her new novel, Busted in Bollywood, she had me at “Bollywood” because I’ve been a Bollywood movie fan for years. I agreed to read it and review it if I felt it was something you guys would like. I was only a few pages into the book when I realized I was going to love it and so were you, whether you know anything about Bollywood or Indian culture. It’s a laugh-out-loud funny, universal story that I’m…

The book cover for The Emperor’s Knife by Mazarkis Williams immediately caught my eye and, when I read the publisher’s blurb, I knew I wanted to read this one. The combination of thriller and fantasy, with a mysterious plague and lots of court intrigue mixed in – how could I resist? I don’t think you’re going to be able to resist The Emperor’s Knife either.
The desert empire of Cerani is overrun with a mysterious pattern plague.…
