For Ellie

One of my favorite moments in motherhood is when the beauty of your children strike you. Today I was watching my baby play, and for a moment I lost my breath.

I'm a Weed

I have a weed problem. I can't keep up with them. They are running rampant through my flower beds. Every day there are more. Each time I pull them, they seem to come back bigger, and stronger. Aggravating, they are.

But...

I'm like a weed, though.

I'm not welcome in the carefully tended beds.

My Kids Are Eating Out of Boredom!

Two weeks ago, we went to the beach for a week, and my children would barely eat. We were busy swimming, boogie boarding, sight seeing, and golfing. Since we have been home, the weather has been pretty pitiful, so we have all been stuck inside. I hate the word bored, but they are bored! When they are bored, they tend to eat more. Vacation = Relaxation?

Vacation = Relaxation? I'm not so sure. We have been home from vacation for 5 days, and I still don't feel "caught up". I am really tired, still haven't put all of our laundry away, and haven't fixed my hair since we returned home. I am however, soooo happy to be home! Internet Difficulties in Africa

Publishing on the internet is daunting here. Internet access in Nigeria is often unstable and sluggish that some times you may spend a whole night trying to open a mail or uploading a webpage.

Most people here use mobile phones and blackberries, so they cant do serious productive work like publishing and uploading. All one can do is facebook, chat or twitter. Thanks to commercial cybercafes where you must rush to catch up before your paid time expires.
