The Character as Storyteller
Some people work best from an outline and I can certainly understand the role of structure in writing. When I sit down to write a story I have a loose outline generally including the character arc for the major players and what needs to have happened by the end. On more than one occasion I have been traveling down a road where I believed I knew what was around the corner only to be utterly surprised by the character having none of it. It's a…Continue

Be careful what you say while talking on the phone:
My peep D calls me
Me: Sorry I missed your call I was coif and poofing for tonight.
*Insert hysterical laughing*
D: You were what?
Me: Coif and poofing?
*I start laughing because she is laughing*
D: Did you say cough and pooping?
Me: No! I said coif, oh nevermind!
*We are now both…Continue

As a general rule I always recommend you follow your inner voice in establishing your own personal style.
Following and acting on trends as they are unleashed can be expensive. Trends seem to come and go so fast that generally by the time a purchase is made the next greatest trend has been announced. Sorry girls – this is just the way it is.
There is one trend this Spring that we happen to love.
Behold, color is…

Across the street lives a not-so-nice man. I’m pretty sure if the kids are ever in the road when he comes home, he’ll squash them like a squirrel with his truck and never look back. When my son was three, this grouchy man yelled at him for getting a cool stick out of his yard. My son still gives him the stink eye whenever he sees him, and we never so much as touch a blade of his grass now.
The other night, my husband, son, and I tossed a ball around on our driveway, ignoring Mr.…Continue

Following unprecedented climatic changes, resultant pestilence and war brought the world into chaos. Eventually, each nation surrendered its sovereignty to form a global democracy, initially known as The Accord. However, the democratic government proved too weak and was soon replaced by a faux…Continue

All I have to say is, thank the good Lord spring break is over AND I really need help with my craft-making skills. I definitely had to get creative with the construction paper over the past couple weeks. Although, to the general public it wouldn’t really appear that I was creative at all. Can’t knock me for trying Here is my life in the past couple of weeks through instagram (@hardydanielle).
In the words of Kate Gosselin, “It may be a crazy life.. but…Continue
You: How did you get started writing for publication, Jeanette?
Jen: When my son was a baby, I wrote several poems for La Leche League, which they published in their international calendars. I was thrilled to see my work in print, delighted that people all over the globe were reading it. LLL offered me a job editing the newsletter for our local region, but I turned them down, since I had two small children at the time, and wanted to devote all…Continue

I am still in the process of finishing my home studio space, where I design and make my jewelry. Here are pictures, my paint scheme and my theme centered around a piece of art my daughter painted. Jewelry is an accessory that is meant to express beauty and personality, and I think my studio shows that too! I wouldn't recommend that new paint with primer however...I still ended up having to use primer before the "paint with primer"...so it wasn't worth the extra cost. More pictures coming…Continue

I was under the impression that two parental figures resided in our home; apparently I was mistaken. Yesterday evening while I was getting ready in our bathroom for Bible Study Man was on the bed messing around on the iPad; so roughly 8ft from where I was standing at my sink.
The Boy: Mom? Mom?
Enter The Boy
Man: She’s right here in the bathroom getting ready.
The Boy: Ok
He appears in the doorway.
The Boy: Mom?
