Getting more than you thought...

Recently I bought a typewriter from 1912 that someone had painted yellow.  The person who sold it listed it with all the correct info and serial number (but because of the paint job... I think folks that its value was either ruined or the info was untrue). I got it for a low price.  The painter long ago used a paint that has proved to be easy to remove (something you would never know by looking) Without the yellow... it's become a keeper.  I was just trying to clean it when I noticed my wash…See More

I was just thinking about how we judge people... often in the first few seconds.  I have taken "leadership" classes where they say this is a good thing and 80% of the time our view is correct.  Yet... the point of such trying and life is change... growth... if we have changed then the next time we meet someone... then it is possible that with a open mind... our judgment would be different.  In fact it should shift... if we have changed.See More

Say Hey...

Remember the movie: "To kill a mockingbird?"  The townsfolk were about to lynch someone... things were about to turn violent when a little girl steps forward and saids: "Hey" then one by one the people return her greeting... then think better of what they were about to do.A gun did not stop the mob... only a child reminding them of their betterselfs.  Perhaps that sense of connection we all need... just starts with a simple... Time Passes

Yesterday was my fathers bithday... way back when in 1941 he changed his birthyear to join the Army.  As a result he claimed three different birthyears and had records to support it.  He claimed to be 21 in 1941 but could have been as young as 16.  I call it time passses.See More
