For girls age 10 and younger what household chores do you have them do? Weekly?Daily? How do you reward them? How do you penalize if not done?

This was a really big discussion for us awhile back our oldest daughter is 12 and we went back and forth about "paying" for chores we finally decided that we are a family and we work together to make our house run without getting paid we wanted to teach her that you do things as part of being a family without making money with that being said we also want to teach her how to earn/save/manage money so we pay her if she wants to do extra chores and for good report card grades. Her chores are not many as school and gymnastics take up lots of her time but she takes the dishes out of the dishwasher almost every day, feeds the cats, has to clean her room and bathroom really good once a week and that's about it.
My Littlest helps out by keeping her desk tidy, picking up her room, and watering the few potted plants outside.  Rewards are a big, "Thank you!" and a "Wow!  You did such a wonderful job!"  Oooh, I need to powder my nose...  xoxo
