Comment by Mia Searles on June 2, 2012 at 10:03am You can read my review for A Perfect Storm, book 4 in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series by Lori Foster in full on my blog at The Muses Circle. But here is a snippet:
http://themusescircle.blogspot.com/2012/05/book-review-perfect-stor...
This review is going to be a bit longer than normal because as I started reviewing A Perfect Storm, I noticed myself mentioning a lot about the series as a whole. If you don't know this already, A Perfect Storm is the 4th and last installment in Lori Foster's The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series. And boy was it a great run while it lasted! Am I sad to see this series end? Absolutely. Do I think Lori could squeeze one more book out? Hell yes, and I will get to that later in my review. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. And it just so happens to end with Spencer and Arizona's story, which sort of begins at the end of Savor the Danger, book 3 in the series.
The way Lori Foster weaves this series together is through constant interaction between her characters. The main characters from each book make frequent appearances throughout the whole series, which leads to some intricate storytelling. So before I go on, let me set the stage. The series revolves around 3 friends, Dare, Trace, and Jackson (Spencer doesn't enter the stage until later obviously) who work as mercenaries to stop human trafficking....

Comment by Patricia Kemp Blackmon on May 26, 2012 at 4:47am Review on The Little Rose by Sheri Fink
The Little Rose is a timeless, heartwarming story about embracing who you really are. Finely detailed, irresistible illustrations bring to life this endearing story of the Little Rose growing amongst a bed of weeds. Teased by the ugly weeds around her, the Little Rose nearly gives up but then learns to accept and love herself for what she really is, a beautiful rose.

Comment by Mia Searles on May 23, 2012 at 10:29am Check out my new book review for: The Hunt by: Andrew Fukuda. You can read the full review and more on my blog at The Muses Circle. But here is a snippet.
I was super excited when I won an ARC copy of The Hunt from LibraryThing.com. There had been a lot of buzz before its release, some calling it the male version of The Hunger Games, only with fangs. With so many YA vampire books out there, finding something that stands out in this genre is like searching for a needle in a haystack. I really wanted to love The Hunt, and while it does delivery some chills and some nail biting suspense, the story somehow falls short and is riddled with plot holes.

My Review:
Roseanne and her friend Randy decide to start their own investigation into the death of the Chief of Internal Security for New England's basketball team, the Highlanders. Johnny was found with a suicide note which seems to conflict with any evidence of foul play.
Roseanne is very familiar with the deceased man since she is actually his widow, now left to raise their young son on her own. She and her friend Randy can not believe Johnny would ever have committed suicide even though there was a suicide note to the contrary.
Roseanne's brother Graham has not just insisted on joining them in this investigation but he plans on leading it. He is like Rambo in disguise and has come armed with an arsenal. This seemed an good idea once they came up against gangs, mobsters and many others involved in a drug ring that Johnny had begun to uncover. These people would stop at nothing to keep their dealings a secret.
Roseanne and Randy grow in friendship while investigating the suspected murder of Johnny the man they both loved.
I made a mistake by judging this book by it's title, Splattered Blood and it's cover which is blood red with vultures in the background. I do not like blood and gore which is what I assumed this book was about.
Wrong!!!
A blogger/author friend asked if I would like a copy of his book to review. Sure I would be more than happy to review your book. But that meant I would have to actually read it. Every time I thought about reading the book I would cringe.
Well I finally picked it up and read the book. Glad I did because I wrongly judged this mystery/who done. It was not blood and gore like I had assumed.
So Micheal I am sorry I judged your book by it's cover. Great Read!
I highly recommend this book.
I rated this book a 5 out of 5
Disclosure
I received a free copy of this book for review. I was in no way compensated for this review. It is my own opinion.
