I love to go to other authors' blogs, read their posts and leave comments however there is one feature on many blogs that I would like to see gone: the captcha feature! Actually, I didn't realize until recently that my own blog had that feature activated. Another author brought it to my attention and I immediately disabled it. It's no fun to type in scrambled letters and numbers in an attempt (usually several attempts) to prove you're not an alien. :)

Absolutely! I've had to do it more than 2 or 3 times occasionally and I've often been tempted to give up. When people visit my blog, I want them to be able to leave a comment if they choose - without getting a headache!
I just had this discussion with a roup of my blogging friends last week. I hate it and i will admit it that it discourages me from leaving comments. My eyesight is not like it used to be and those pictures are blurry sometimes. Glad you brought this up!
Permalink Reply by Debbie Doglady on December 12, 2012 at 1:10pm Yes, I agree, mostly because so many of them are difficult to read and, as you say, require multiple attempts.
I like the blogs that just let you add a check mark to indicate you're human and not a spambot.
Don't think I have any control over what my blog does, because it's Wordpress.com. not .org. Future plans include switching, so I can decide for myself.

Permalink Reply by Jeanine Tribley on January 3, 2013 at 5:30pm Wow....how would I know if that feature is turned on my Blog? As I dislike it too! I can never get some of those letters and have to re-attempt more often than I like!

If you have Blogger, go to your settings and you should see the option to turn it off. I don't think it actually says "captcha" but you'll know.

Permalink Reply by Kaitlin Hayes on April 3, 2013 at 1:59am Yes, Patricia! I despise that thing! If it's trying to prove I'm human, why do I fail 100% of the time on my first go? I'm pretty sure I'm human...

I wish everyone felt the way you and I do. I'd like to see a ban on the feature.
Permalink Reply by Tia Susnik on May 9, 2013 at 12:24pm How to you disable it? I'm sure if its default it is on my blog as well. Thank you! http://immersedinglitter.blogspot.com/

Just go to "settings" and you'll see the various features and the option to turn it off. Best of luck!
